6 months ago, I was at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my best friend Faisal to catch Arsenal’s pre season Asia Tour. Was in KL for about 3 days. To cut the story short, it was our last day there, had our late late lunch and off to catch our flight to back to Singapore. Unfortunately, we somehow “missed” our flight. We didn’t actually missed it but, we checked in at the counter for a minute late. That’s right, just 60 seconds late (plane is still on the ground, departing 45mins later). How pathetic. We tried to talk our way through with the manager and all (Air Asia) but still, we were denied. I noticed that we are not alone. There are at least 5 or more passengers that shared the same luck as us too, but just different flights. Our minds were completely blank at that point of time. So, we figured to stay overnight at the airport and figure out how the fuck are we gonna get back to Singapore.
Fast forward, Faisal spotted 2 ladies who looked worried/shocked? Found out that they were late for checking in to their flight, and were denied too. What luck. They turned out to be cousins, hoping to make it in time for their aunt’s birthday in Kota Kinabalu. We had supper together at McDonald’s together and talked til the next morning, 6am. They had bought tickets for the next available flight to KK whereas, me and Faisal still had no idea how to get back to Singapore. Halfway through, Faisal and Tiffany fell asleep. Left me alone with Joanna.
Talked about lots of stuffs, from hobbies all the way down to personal. I found that she is the exactly the opposite of me, and I like that ( I stick to “opposites attract”). Blablabla, still got no plans on how to get back to Singapore, when she suddenly suggested that, “Why not take coach back home? Cheap, and you can sleep all the way to Woodlands checkpoint!”. I was like, FUCK how did I not think of that earlier?! Time check, 6am. First bus to KL Central departs from the airport. Woke up Faisal, and told about how to get home. Haha. Bid our farewell to the cuzzies and left.
While walking to the bust berth, I forgot something. Walked back, and asked Joanna for her Facebook. Walked back to the bus berth with a smile on my face.
Reached Singapore at 3pm-ish. Slow but, safe.
Till this day, I’m waiting for her to come to Singapore. I wanna bring her out and explore Singapore, like I promised her 6 months ago…….
